About Julia
Y'all, I struck gold. The fortune of growing up in a family that actively treats theatre as the favorite pastime surpasses all numerical wealth. As a child in the Houston theatre scene, my mind was fed dialogue that challenged small-town thinking, while actors tested my instincts with unexpected moves, tearing my heart apart alongside the silence of the theater. The richness of art, leaving lingering reflections about oneself, has always captivated me.
If you caught me on campus during my BFA in Acting at Illinois Wesleyan University (’24), you would find me existentially questioning my perspective and values because of the characters I played. Whether wearing the royal garments of the Duchess in John Webster’s “The Duchess of Malfi,” or the bloody swimsuit of Amy in Ruby Rae Spiegel’s “Dry Land,” my reflections led me to ask the right questions to intertwine myself with the lives of my characters.
When I’m not on camera or stage, you’ll find me jamming to The Beatles, recentering myself with my family at Shabbat lunch, and bartending for my filmmaker friends after a day of shooting.
